Our Story

“Small Waters” is the English translation of “Nippersink”, an indigenous name for the creek that flows across ancestral homelands of the Potawatomi, Ojibwe and Odawa.  Little springs arise from the earth, joining together in a meandering flow, supporting abundant life.  The headwaters of the Nippersink is the home of Small Waters Education, which gathers together those who are building relationships with the land and learning our place in a healthy ecosystem.
